Força-tarefa global monitora integridade nos Jogos Olímpicos de Paris
Após um século desde a última vez em que sediou os Jogos Olímpicos, Paris se tornou novamente o centro da excelência esportiva mundial. A França está recebendo as principais competições do maior evento esportivo conhecido pela humanidade. E diante de tantos atletas desafiando os seus próprios limites e os limites uns dos outros, a integridade esportiva precisa ser garantida. Para isso, uma força-tarefa global tem atuado para averiguar a lisura competitiva dos jogos neste ano.
A integridade é um pilar fundamental das competições esportivas, algo essencial para manter o verdadeiro significado de vitória e derrota. Em prol da proteção desses valores, o Comitê Olímpico Internacional (COI) lançou o Grupo do Movimento Olímpico para a Prevenção da Manipulação de Competições (Grupo do Movimento Olímpico sobre PMC). Este grupo se dedica a monitorar, relatar e investigar atividades suspeitas de manipulação de resultados e apostas.
O Escritório das Nações Unidas sobre Drogas e Crime (UNODC) reforça essa iniciativa, sendo um parceiro de longa data do COI. Além do UNODC, diversas entidades internacionais se juntaram ao esforço para garantir a integridade dos Jogos Olímpicos, incluindo INTERPOL, Conselho da Europa, International Betting Integrity Agency, National Gambling Authority of France, Sportradar e United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports.
A iniciativa estabelece normas rígidas para todos os participantes credenciados dos Jogos Olímpicos, incluindo atletas, oficiais, membros de delegações, juízes e membros do júri. Eles são proibidos de manipular o curso ou o resultado de qualquer competição, apostar em eventos dos Jogos, compartilhar informações privilegiadas, deixar de relatar conhecimento de má conduta e não cooperar com investigações.
